Active8 Yamaha’s Beau Ralston produced one of his best weekends of the year at rounds nine and ten of the Australian Off Road Championship held at Monkerai, New South Wales, taking podium results in both class and outright honours.

Despite the clear blue skies, conditions were wet and boggy as rain prior to the event had the ground saturated and riders had a tough time dealing with deep mud in sections of the course. But Ralston rode strongly all weekend to post some impressive results and consolidate his position on the leader board.

Saturday’s event was a Cross Country event that had riders on track for nearly three hours. Ralston, mounted on his thundering WR480F, showed great speed as he charged his way to third outright for the day and second in the E3 class.

He ably backed that up with a fifth outright and again second in class on Sunday in the Sprint style racing.

The consistent weekend now has Ralston sitting in fifth outright and third in the E3 class.

“I’m pretty happy with my weekend and the results we achieved. It was tough out there on both days as the rain last week meant a lot of the course was super wet with deep bog holes and water crossings everywhere so it was a tricky weekend of racing.

“The bike ran well all weekend and the team continues to put in a huge effort just for me while Josh and Tayla are still sidelined with injury.

“It was a good feeling to back batting for podium positions and I’m confident of a strong finish to the year at the A4DEe and the final weekend of the AORC,” Ralston said.

Those sentiments were also backed up by team manager, AJ Roberts, who expressed some relief with the good results and a positive outlook going forward.

“It was positive weekend for the team and a good result for everyone. We worked on a few things with both Beau and the bike since the last round and we all feel we made some gains in those areas.

“As a team it was a round that we needed to get us back on track and moving forward so we leave here with a bit of a spring in our step and looking forward to the final rounds in the coming weeks,” AJ ends.

The final weekend of the AORC is to be held at September 10-11 in Victoria.
