Motorcycling Australia have announce the Australian Speedway Championship now has a brand new championship logo, after an incredibly successful Australian Speedway Solo Championship played out for many riders in 2017.

Australia enjoys a very long and proud Speedway history that has seen hundreds of star riders rise up through the ranks and achieve both National and International success. In recognition of the immense talent pool the Australian Speedway Championship not only lays claim to, but cultivates and fosters year after year, MA has commissioned an official championship logo to reflect the overall success of the discipline.

Creator of the new Speedway logo, Rhys van Slooten of Slootz Designs, shared with MA the design process and inspiration behind it, saying “We spent a while, pouring over many magazines, video and online content relating to the Speedway discipline and we have managed to come up with a graphic that we feel encompasses the essence of Aussie Speedway.

“It was a seamless team effort with MA, and we worked closely on getting it right the first time. We really wanted to capture the speed and motion of the bikes somehow. We feel that the metallic colours and sweeping lines are reminiscent of that. The use of the Australian flag in the background highlights the importance of a National Championship. We were glad to be a part of it and hope to see the new Championship logo long into the future!” Rhys finished.

An identifying championship logo was just one of the ways in which MA intends to grow and further develop Speedway, and with the recent announcement of the 2018 Australian Speedway Championship calendar, it is MA’s hope to see the use of the logo as a national identifier at future race meets.
