The weekend will also mark his last year of a six-year straight run as a full time World Championship rider in Europe that saw the Aussie battler compete with great success in Superstock, Superbike, Supersport and reach the ultimate level of MotoGP, joining only a handful of Aussie’s to ever reach the peak of competition in the sport of road racing.

Bryan Staring, “It’s a bittersweet moment for me looking into my last European race after six years full time here. I’ve really enjoyed my time in the World Championship, I feel like I’ve experienced a vast amount of what the racing world offers with both great times and particularly difficult ones.

“Although I’ve not achieved exactly what I set out to in Europe, I’m satisfied in that I did the best I could have in every situation and gave everything I had in every lap I turned over the whole period. I rode just as hard in the few races I won as I did in the ones I finished outside of the points.

“Racing aside, the influence of Italian life and culture has made this experience so incredible, yet ultimately it’s the people I’ve met along the journey that contribute mostly to my positive memories. I wouldn’t trade anything in the world for the memories that stand out most in my mind.

“I’m not leaving the World Championship bitter that I didn’t succeed, although I will say that talent only makes the difference once you have the right equipment. Some years I got to display that and others didn’t. That is sport and is motorsport in particular.

“I’m immensely looking forward to 2017 and racing the Australian championship with Honda Australia”.

Bryan’s weekend starts with FP1 at 18:15 EST, followed by FP2 at 0100, QP at 23:15 Saturday, W/U Sunday at 18:50 and the race at 23:20 Sunday night.
