Zero Motorcycles, a worldwide leader in electric motorcycles and powertrains, has announced a new strategic alliance with Australian Electric Motor Co, Australia’s leading EV motorcycle specialist, in the aftermath of the Peter Stevens Motorcycles (previous importers of Zero) problems. Press: Zero

This partnership will oversee the distribution and retail operations of Zero’s full range of electric motorcycles, parts, accessories, and apparel across Australia, effective immediately.

With our chapter alongside Peter Stevens coming to a close, we’re excited to continue building momentum with our longest-standing and best-selling dealer in Australia,” said Adrian O’Donoughue, Zero Motorcycles Director of International Expansion. “This new partnership ensures that both longtime owners and new riders can keep enjoying our bikes with full support for sales, parts, and service every step of the way.”

A fresh start for Zero in Australia-

For many Aussie riders, the announcement feels like a much-needed reset. At BikeReview.com.au, having tested just about every EV bike available in Australia over the years (as well as countless e-bicycles and electric cars), we know that these machines can be game changers when they fit the lifestyle and needs of their owners.

We recently put some of Zero’s latest models through their paces (read our reviews here) and just as we were getting excited about the brand’s return to Australia, things came unstuck for Peter Stevens Imports. Within months, hundreds of Zero motorcycles found their way to auction yards – a difficult blow for the industry. That said, many lucky punters picked up bargains and are now out there enjoying the bikes, proving their capability and quality.

This new partnership with Australian Electric Motor Co. feels like a genuine chance for stability and growth — hopefully, third time lucky for Zero in Australia.
