Great for travellers and motorcyclists alike, the Twelve South PlugBug Travel 50 combines fast global charging, compact design, and Apple Find My tracking technology.
The Twelve South PlugBug Travel 50 2-Port USB-C International Wall Charger with Find My is an impressive and genuinely practical solution for travellers, and particularly motorcyclists like me who travel to International events so often and spend hours in airports…

The PlugBug comes in a $139.95 RRP two port 50W version as tested, and a four port $219.95 RRP 120W version.
Straight out of the box, the PlugBug impresses with its thoughtful packaging and a very handy, solidly made soft-lined carry case. There’s a neat little mesh basket inside for storing your phone cable, and the sturdy canvas outer cover should keep the charger and all its parts protected during travel, even when stuffed into a bike gear bag or pannier.
Setting it up was easy. The instructions come in multiple languages, but I simply scanned the provided QR code and followed the prompts. It was fast and painless to add the PlugBug to the Find My app on my iPhone, meaning I now have a backup tracker for my gear.
I actually stash the PlugBug under my motorcycle seat when riding, so not only can I keep tabs on my charger, but if the bike ever gets nicked, I can track it! With new Australian and International laws banning portable power banks on planes, having something like the PlugBug makes even more sense, offering a compliant and convenient charging solution while travelling.
I spend a lot of time at airports, last year alone 30 attended 30 bike launches, and working on my laptop on planes (when I would much rather be boozing up or watching movies!), so you can imagine the flights. Carrying various bulky adaptors to use on planes or at airports and hotels can be a pain. I like to minimise hand luggage, as I also need to hand carry a motorcycle helmet, so the PlugBug has been great as it is slim and it also has two outlets, one for my iPhone and one for a second device.
With a retail price of $139.95 in Australia, the PlugBug is pretty good value when you consider the individual cost of adaptors, plus an actual USB adaptor or two, you can’t beat it. With versatility, build quality and convenience thrown into one. It provides dual USB-C charging with 50W total output, which is more than enough for phones, tablets and even a MacBook Air.
It’s Find Me sensor is powered by a watch battery, meaning it will last and you can track it 24/7 even if it is not in a wall socket, all while maintaining a slim and compact design that fits easily into your jacket pocket, under your bike seat, or in a travel bag. The PlugBug 50W is also GaN powered.
The addition of six interchangeable plugs – covering the US, China, Australia, EU, UK and Korea – bundled neatly in the travel case, makes it a perfect companion for riders or travellers heading overseas. Even domestically, it’s brilliant – compact, fast, and versatile. Compared to other bulky travel adapters, the PlugBug feels premium and thoughtfully designed, from the folding prongs to its slim body that fits into tight spaces without fuss.
For motorcyclists touring Europe, backpackers on the move, or anyone who hates losing chargers, the PlugBug Travel 50 is a smart investment. The Find My integration alone is worth it for the extra security when you’re on the road. For more info and for availability details visit TwelveSouth Australia here…
