2018 Yamaha XMax 300 Tech Talk
The Yamaha XMax 300 features the latest Blue Core liquid-cooled four-stroke, SOHC, four-valve single cylinder, with a capacity of 292cc and bore and stroke of 70 x 75.9mm. Compression ratio is 10.9:1 and claimed power is 27.6hp, while torque is 21.4ft-lbs.
Weighing in at 179kg, with a 13L fuel tank it is available in Quasar Bronze and Lunar Grey, with a seat height of 795mm and wheelbase of 1540mm. The warranty is 24-month, unlimited kilometre.
Underseat storage is extremely generous with room for two full face helmets, as well as extras, while suspension is telescopic forks, with twin rear shocks, for a sporty, stable ride.
Traction control and ABS are both standard, with a keyless locking system, LCD dash and twin analogue clocks. A 12V outlet is also located in the left glove box, with the right glove box providing room for small items.
Wheels are 15in front, and 14in rear, with disc brakes front and rear. Headlights are LED, as isthe taillight.
