BikeReview Tuono V4 1100 RR20171103_2523The current Aprilia Tuono 1100 received some refinements for MY17, and we recently spent a week keeping our licenses (somehow) on the V4 naked beast.

The bike is, as predicted, as awesome as always, now with a few extra features for the gadget fans out there, along with mega stoppers for the last of the late brakers… Check out our video review. The full written test will be up soon! Sorry about the wind noise in the video by the way!

TECH TALK – 2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR

The main changes for the latest Tuono V4 1100 RR are to the electronics, brakes and muffler. The bike now meets Euro4, thanks to a new, heavier muffler, but it also revs 500rpm more to retain peak horsepower of 2015/2016. It also has bigger 330mm front rotors and top spec M50 monoblock Brembo calipers, cruise control and an up and down quickshifter. The new Tuono V4 1100 range is fitted with advanced multi-map Cornering ABS, developed in collaboration with Bosch.

The new ABS system works in unison with the Aprilia RLM (Rear Liftup Mitigation) system that limits the lift of the rear wheel during more abrupt braking. Cornering ABS is adjustable to 3 levels of sensibility and can be switched off. In order to allow riders with various levels of experience to find the best possible combination, each of the three Cornering ABS maps can be combined with any of the three new engine maps (Sport, Track, Race).

The colour TFT digital instrumentation is also new, with two selectable screen pages, Road and Race, which are both lit with night and day backlighting.

The front Brembo braking system comes directly from the new RSV4 and relies on a pair of new steel discs that have been increased to 330mm, gripped by the new monobloc M50 callipers and activated by a radial master cylinder.

The Tuono V4 1100 RR is available in two colours, Portimao Grey and Assen Black. Aprilia has designed and developed a wide range of accessories so you can personalise and enhance the performance of your Tuono V4 1100. Check them out here.
