Pommie has been out testing his new two-piece leathers from Cassons. The IXON Vendetta Evo suit has plenty of features to keep you safe on the track and comfortable on the road, check them out!
It’s been years since I’ve had a new set of leathers, so Cassons sorted me out with the IXON Vendetta Evo two piece set. It finally gave me an excuse to hit the track and put this epic set of leathers to the test. Not only do they look great, they’re plenty comfortable…
I don’t get on the track much these days now my Rapid Bikes testing duties are long gone, so I really wanted a two-piece set of leathers, that way I could use the jacket separately with my Kevlar jeans and as a result, I can get more use out of them. The IXON jacket can be zipped to the IXON pants and also comes with a spare zip, should you want to match the jacket to a different manufacturer’s pants.
The leathers are designed to be comfy and offer great airflow with the integrated micro fabric and 3D airspace mesh, they also have air extractors and a removable mesh lining to provide improved airflow.
The supple micro perforated cowhide jacket can also be fitted with an IX airbag U03 for added safety. The jacket is fitted with CE shoulder and elbow protection/sliders, while there’s plenty of padding to give you peace of mind on the road and track. The jacket also has two layers of leather for extra protection on the most exposed areas in case of a fall.
The pants offer the same amount of protection and perforated airflow as the jacket and come with knee sliders, CE protection and hip protection, plus a double layer of leather on the bum. They have grip on the inside of the knees for gripping the fuel tank and perforated flexible mesh fabric inside the crutch for comfort, extra flexibility and stretch. Around the waist also uses stretch fabric and offers better comfort while sitting on the bike, the pants use a hook system to fasten, along with a press button for security.
Like many other leathers, the suit is for dry riding only and you have no protection from the wet. For practicality, the jacket has four pockets, two zipper pockets on the outside and two Velcro pockets on the inside, with one of the inside pockets being waterproof if you want to carry your phone.

I really love the design and thought that has gone into the IXON Vendetta EVO suit, it’s surprisingly comfy, which is no doubt due to the use of the supple cowhide and the stretch fabric used. The suit has been so comfortable that I’ve even found myself using it more on the road than I would normally do, I’ve even used it a few times while riding my Motard. IT will be great in summer.
Track Test
I first used the IXON Vendetta EVO leathers at The Bend. I’d only picked them up the day before, so I was worried about them being stiff, due to not having time to wear them in – thankfully they are super flexible right out of the box. With it being a hot day in South Australia, I was grateful that they are two-piece so I could easily remove the jacket while standing around between sessions.
The leathers offer great comfort, both on the bike and walking around in the pits. On the bike the flexible material sections between the legs and under the arms really make manoeuvring and hanging off the bike easy. I can honestly say that even after a full day in the saddle, fatigue from breaking in the suit was never an issue nor was comfort. The perforated ventilation in the leather also helps keep you cool, which after a few laps of the demanding Bend circuit I was more than grateful for.
On The Road
Riding on the road with the IXON leathers, I can tell you from first-hand experience that they are not waterproof, the clever perforation that is there to keep you cool is basically sieve like in the rain. Having said that, I’m not a rain rider by choice and was happier that the leathers keep me cool, rather than dry and that they have flexibility in the leather and material to give me the best movement whilst riding.
If anyone has ever ridden on the road in full leathers, you’ll know what a pain they are, especially when you pull up at your local hang-out and have to walk around with them hanging off you. I’m more than happy with the IXON two-piece so I can just take off the top and be comfortable while sipping my cappuccino. If you want to mix and match like me, I sometimes wear the jacket and my Kevlar jeans for even more comfort.
For an RRP of $849.95 for the jacket and $699.95 for the pants, they’re not the cheapest on the market but they’re certainly a spectacular option. Riders have a choice of sizes ranging from Small to 3XL and if you’re unsure of your size, head into your local IXON stockist and try them on!
