Triumph Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400 Revealed
Triumph Motorcycles has expanded its award-winning 400 platform for 2026 with the introduction of two new models: the all-new Tracker 400 and the Thruxton 400. Together, they broaden Triumph’s middleweight Modern Classic offering, bringing flat track attitude and café racer heritage to riders.
Marking a first for the brand, the Tracker 400 introduces flat track-inspired design into Triumph’s production line-up. It blends stripped-back race styling with unmistakable Triumph DNA, creating a bold, upright road bike that prioritises attitude, accessibility and everyday fun. Alongside it, the Thruxton 400 makes its global debut, reimagining one of Triumph’s most iconic names as a compact, sporty café racer with modern performance and technology.
Both models are powered by the latest and most potent version of Triumph’s 398cc TR-Series single-cylinder engine. Revised internals and updated tuning lift peak output to 42PS at 9,000rpm, delivering a five per cent increase in peak power, a higher rev ceiling and stronger top-end performance, while retaining the flexible, torque-rich character that has defined the 400 platform since launch.
The Tracker 400 has been engineered to deliver a commanding riding position, with wide handlebars, repositioned footpegs and a dedicated chassis designed for sharp, engaging handling. Flat track-inspired styling elements include a boxy fuel tank, number board, seat cowl and fly screen, paired with newly styled wheels wrapped in Pirelli MT60 RS tyres. Available in Racing Yellow, Phantom Black and Aluminium Silver Gloss, the Tracker 400 delivers a distinctive on-road presence with clear racing influences.
In contrast, the Thruxton 400 takes inspiration from Triumph’s café racer heritage, combining classic design cues with a modern, sporty edge. Clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs and a revised suspension set-up create a more aggressive riding posture and a focused, responsive ride. The design is anchored by a sculpted fuel tank, compact fairing housing a round LED headlight, and a minimalist tail section, finished in a choice of striking colour schemes that reflect the bike’s performance-led intent.
Both models integrate modern rider technology without compromising their classic appearance. Features such as ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, torque-assist clutch and ABS are standard, while analogue-style instrumentation with digital displays preserves the timeless Modern Classic aesthetic.
Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer at Triumph Motorcycles, said the new models build directly on the global success of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 range, which has introduced a younger and more diverse audience to the Triumph brand. With the Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400, Triumph aims to offer even greater choice, character and sporting appeal within the segment.
Backed by class-leading service intervals and a two-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty that also covers Genuine Triumph Accessories, both models promise low ownership costs alongside premium fit and finish.
The Tracker 400 will arrive in Australian dealerships from March 2026 priced from $9,990 rideaway, while the Thruxton 400 will be available from February, priced from $10,390 rideaway.
