The all new Brough Superior Lawrence has just been announced and theres no doubt it’s one beautiful looking motorcycle. Hand built and made with premium parts, its specifications are those of every motorcycle enthusiasts dream. They are available now…

Brough Superior are back with their latest creation, a hand made, high end bike as expected.

Brough Superior is the first brand to have produced motorcycles that could go above 100mph. The company was bought in 2014 by French motorcycle expert Thierry Henriette. After relaunching Lawrence of Arabia’s legendary S.S.100 and collaborating with Aston Martin to create the only existing bike of the brand, Brough Superior decided to produce this, the “Lawrence”.

Hand-built with the best materials available, such as Titanium, carbon-fibre and aluminium, the Lawrence benefited from the strong local aeronautical industry network to be developed. Brough Superior say that eyes should have been on the Lawrence at the EICMA 2020 show, but its absence due to COVID-19 will not affect its impact on the motorcycle industry. The bike will be released in March 2021, with numbers and availability Down Under to be announced.

It’s safe to say that there is nothing on the market right now that looks as unique as the Lawrence.

The model name comes from Lawrence of Arabia, also known as Thomas Edward Lawrence or T.E Shaw, who owned seven Brough Superiors. Aside from writing, riding his Broughs was the author’s hobby. They were so important to him that he used to write about them in letters and in his books. Each of his Broughs held a name that was similar to a royal lineage, going from George I to George VII.

In his book, “The Mint“, Lawrence dedicated an entire chapter to the pleasure he had riding across England in the morning to get the best ingredients for a brunch.

“For months have I been making my evening round a marketing, twice a week, riding a hundred miles for the joy of it and picking up the best food cheapest, over half the country side.”

The bike was named after Brough enthusiast and writer Thomas Edward Lawrence aka T.E Shaw.

This new model represents a milestone for Brough Superior. Inspired by the mechanical architecture of the S.S.100, the Lawrence has unique curves that were only possible to be created by using carbon-fibre. The frame of the motorcycle is in Titanium, and the forks are a “Fior type” made out of aluminium.

The engine has been developed internally by the Brough Superior engineers. Brough Superior claim the production technology and the engineering skills that are required to build this bike partly come from the aeronautical industry that is very influential in the region of Toulouse, France.

Only 188 editions of the Lawrence will be produced and of course it comes with an eye-watering price tag.

Only 188 editions of this beautiful motorcycle will be produced. Brough Superior say the number 188 is echoing the birth date of T.E. Lawrence: 1888. The high-end materials and hand crafted labour costs add up as the Lawrence has a price tag of over $100,000 AUD and is to be confirmed.
