The first official day of racing for the 2016 Barry Sheene Festival of Speed started out with clear skies for qualifying, after a successful day of practice the previous day.
Weather was inconsistent throughout the day however, causing delays, particularly with the eargerly awaited GP Legends Clash, where Kevin Schwantz, Jeremy McWilliams, Freddie Spencer, Kork Ballington, Graeme Crosby, Steve Parish, Kevin Magee, Maria Costello and John Boote wowed the crowds, with some very competitive riding on a collection of priceless classic racing machines from not only around Australia but around the world.
Here’s a gallery of the first day’s atmosphere, stay tuned for qualifying and Friday’s race results!
