Cassons hooked Luca up with some new riding gear before hitting the track! Check out what he thought of the awesome Bell Race Star DLX, on the road and in a racing setting... Action Shots: Lin Cotter.

The Bell Race Star DLX Flex helmet is a premium motorcycle helmet designed for the demands of serious and competitive riders. Cassons sent me one to check out how it performs on the road and on the track, read what I thought of it…

Luca and Zane put in an awesome effort to bring the little Yamaha YZF-R15 home for a second place finish in the Six Hour Bucket Enduro.

The Bell Race Star DLX Flex helmet is a premium motorcycle helmet designed for the demands of serious and competitive riders. Luca threw one on for the recent six hour bucket race!

The Bell Race Star DLX is engineered to provide optimal protection, comfort, and performance, this helmet features a lightweight and aerodynamic shell made of advanced polymer composite material also featuring advanced ventilation system, and a Flex liner system designed to absorb and manage strong impacts.

Whether you’re a professional racer or just enjoy pushing your limits on the track, the Bell Race Star DLX Flex is a top-choice for those who look for the best in safety, comfort, and performance. Weighing in at only 1.54kg with the medium helmet is considered to be on the lighter side compared to some traditional full-face helmets. The Race Star DLX Flex is really great with vision spectrum, being able to see everything necessary in your peripheral vision protecting your eyes is the Panovision Pinlock Shield that features class one optics, increased field of view and a fog resistant lens meeting beyond race standards.

I absolutely love this helmet! The red and black version I received not only works the carbon fibre look but fits beautifully with the shape especially looking at the rear of the lid… it’s impressive. The slipstream fin makes the rider look serious and judging by the concave in the shell running to the fin its clear Bell know their aerodynamics.

"Riding on track, I loved how much head movement I had, being able to tuck in and lift my head up without my neck getting sore riding all day from the padding being more flexible than what I'm used to."

Riding on track, I loved how much head movement I had, being able to tuck in and lift my head up without my neck getting sore riding all day from the padding being more flexible than what I’m used to. Over time the Flex liner seems to adapt to the shape of your head too so it becomes more comfortable on every use.

The inside of the helmet features multi-density EPS foam padding that is quite comfortable and different in terms of feel around the checks, it feels like your head is being held securely in place reducing impact energy. The padding is also removable and washable to help maintain the freshness.

The little things always stand out to me, funny enough my favourite part is the chin strap clip. Sometimes It can be hard trying to find the clip button to hold the strap, especially with gloves on. So Bell made it magnetic so you can almost just shake your head and it will clip on its that easy. I think spending over a grand is a little on the expensive side compared to most helmets but the Race Star DLX Flex is a top quality race helmet I would purchase for racing and everyday riding.
