The new LiveWire brand has been launched in the USA, separating itself from Harley Davidson to become a full electric brand. Check out their new model, the ONE...

Harley-Davidson recently presented the evolution of LiveWire (LiveWire.com) as a standalone brand and the introduction of their first bike as a seperate brand, the LiveWire ONE. It’s an updated H-D LiveWire launching in the USA and available to order now.

LiveWire have announced their first bike after separating from Harley-Davidson to become it’s own brand!

“As part of The Hardwire Strategy, we made a commitment that Harley-Davidson would lead in electric. We recognised the pioneering spirit and brand value in LiveWire for our community and took the decision to evolve the original LiveWire motorcycle into a dedicated EV brand. Today’s LiveWire ONE builds on the DNA of Harley-Davidson but with the electric focus and ambition of the new LiveWire brand. Harley-Davidson and LiveWire will continue to rewrite the motorcycle rulebook and we are excited about this next chapter in our legacy.” said Jochen Zeitz, CEO of Harley-Davidson.

While information is yet to be released for most of the specifications, they look to be the same as the past model aside from some styling changes. LiveWire say the ONE will stream directions, monitor alerts, and track your recharge status. While its smooth power from the electric motor that can produce 100 per cent of its torque instantly.

Australian pricing is TBA, but USA pricing has seen a 25 per cent drop from the Harley-Davidson model, the Australian market is likely to see the same, hopefully! So it should be around the $37,500 – $40,000 mark.

If you’re worried about battery life then don’t stress, the One will recharge via the DC Fast Charge 0 to 100 per cent in 60 minutes/0 to 80 per cent in 45 minutes, and around 8 – 10 hours at home on 240v. While a full charge will get you a claimed 233km of city range, but we are yet to get that on ours (we are working on it), and it is capable of traveling beyond the urban grid. Rider safety is sorted through LiveWire ONE’s advanced rider systems that use a 6-axis IMU to track and anticipates change. Ensuring maximum performance but a safe ride!

Jeff has been using his Long Term LiveWire for 6 weeks so far and has not found a disadvantage to petrol for the type of riding he has been doing, which is urban plus some spins up the local twisties.

LiveWire is the first OEM with a hybrid omni-channel model, combining the best of digital and physical, allowing the customer to interact with the brand on their own terms. Designed to facilitate a fully immersive brand experience, the first state-of-the-art LiveWire brand experience gallery is scheduled to open summer 2021 [We don’t know what this means at all! – Ed].

Launching in the USA, LiveWire ONE plans to be available in international markets from 2022.

We will update you on Australian delivery and pricing as soon as we find out more.
