Over 100 owners of Yamaha’s MT naked bikes rode to the Grey Gum Café on Putty Road, NSW to check out the recently released MY21 range. The MT owners were joined by YMA staff, Yamaha dealers and their customers to boost the number to around 400-strong on the sunny yet cool Sunday of 16 May.

YMA’s marketing team ensured that one of each 2021 MT models – including the new MT-07LA/HO and all new MT-09/SP – were on display, along with two of Dave McKenna’s incredible MT stunt bikes.

With 250bhp on tap, McKenna’s MT-10 based supercharged drift bike drew many admiring glances as members of the MT Riders Sydney Facebook group along with Yamaha owners – enjoyed a complimentary BBQ lunch.

One of each new 2021 MT was on display at the cafe, giving Yamaha fans a glimpse at what could be their next bike.

Grey Gum Café proprietor, Kim Grace and her crew had their work cut out with the big crowd, but the combination of great weather, food, road, bikes and mates meant the event was a huge success:

“It’s great to see so many smiling faces and so many MTs in one place,” says YMA Sales and Marketing Manager Matthew Ferry. “The Australian MT owners group turned out in big numbers for our first event back in September 2018 despite the wet weather on that day. Today the conditions are perfect so even more MT riders can enjoy the fun,”

If you want to be involved with the next ride, then head to the YMA Facebook page and keep an eye out for the next one!

“Getting out for a ride on a sunny day and connecting with like-minded people is what it’s all about. These types of customer events are fun for everyone, including our staff who all rode here on MTs. The amount of positive feedback we are received has encouraged us to expand such activities in the future,” he explains.

Stay tuned to YMA’s Facebook page for details of upcoming rides and events.
