First launched in 1999, the model quickly became synonymous with outright speed and strong real-world performance thanks to its smooth, torque-rich engine and aerodynamic design.

For 2026, Suzuki retains the proven Hayabusa platform while refining the presentation of the lineup and introducing a new Special Edition model that sits at the top of the range. The update focuses primarily on styling and exclusivity rather than mechanical changes, with the flagship hyperbike continuing to deliver its characteristic blend of strong acceleration, predictable power delivery and long-distance comfort.

Limited Special Edition model
Headlining the MY26 lineup is a Hayabusa Special Edition, finished in an exclusive Pearl Vigor Blue colour scheme. The model carries an advertised ride-away price of $29,990 and is expected to arrive in Australia next week.

Suzuki says the majority of the Special Edition allocation has already been pre-sold, with only a very limited number of units remaining. The final eight bikes will be available exclusively via online purchase through Suzuki Australia’s “Build Your Bike” system from 12:00pm AEST on Friday, May 8, 2026.

Alongside the Special Edition, Suzuki has also confirmed updated colour schemes for the standard Hayabusa model. Despite the cosmetic updates, the core appeal of the Hayabusa remains unchanged. Suzuki continues to position the model as a benchmark for ultimate performance, built around strong low-to-mid-range power and refined rideability that makes the bike capable across a wide range of riding conditions.

With its unmistakable silhouette and long-standing reputation, the Hayabusa continues to attract riders seeking both high-speed capability and usability. The MY26 update reinforces Suzuki’s commitment to the model while giving fans a fresh take on one of motorcycling’s most recognisable machines.
