G 310 GS features new LED headlight, updated styling, self-boosting anti-hopping clutch and adjustable hand lever in four stages for brake and clutch…

Andreas Lundgren, General Manager of BMW Motorrad Australia, said the new G 310 GS, R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure represented the ideal way to commemorate the milestone. “These fantastic new models help us celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic GS Series in perfect style with their array of features – many of which are fitted as standard – improving on already fantastic and highly capable bikes that have proven such a hit with BMW Motorrad customers over many years”.

R 1250 GS and R 1250 GSA ’40 Years GS Edition’ Highlights

  • Dynamic Traction Control and Integral ABS Pro as standard
  • The standard fit Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) ensures a high level of riding safety by the delivering the best possible traction.
  • The new standard “Eco” riding mode encourages efficient riding, while Pro riding modes can be equipped as optional equipment ex works.
  • With the new riding mode preselection, the rider can benefit from an individual selection of riding modes via the mode button.
  • The dynamic engine brake control is also a new component of the Pro riding modes. It can be used to safely avoid unstable riding conditions that can occur in coasting overrun mode or when downshifting due to excessive brake slip at the rear wheel.
  • The advanced BMW Integral ABS Pro is additionally fitted as standard on both models. This system provides even more safety when braking, even in inclined positions.
  • The additional expansion of the riding mode concept results in more new functions. For example, it adapts ABS control characteristics to the respective riding mode for maximum control.

R 1250 GS and R 1250 GSA: Hill Start Control Pro with advanced function to enhance starting performance
The Hill Start Control ride-off assistant is standard equipment and enables convenient stopping and starting when riding uphill. Hill Start Control Pro (HSC Pro), also standard on Australian specification models, goes beyond the Hill Start Control comfort system to noticeably improve starting performance in all riding conditions.

R 1250 GS and R 1250 GSA: New full-LED adaptive headlights, new lighting function, cruising light and function-integrated turn indicator bulbs
A newly developed headlight with swivel function goes one step further than the already powerful standard-fitment full-LED headlight. The optional “adaptive headlight” package allows the low-beam headlight of the standard full-LED headlight to turn into the curve depending on the inclined position.
The new lighting functions make the experience with the R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure even more practical. In future, the welcome light (“Welcome” function), the “Good bye” function and the “Follow me home” function for orientation will be available as optional equipment. With the optional cruising light equipment, the two front turn indicator bulbs can be permanently dimmed simultaneously.

In the case of the multifunctional rear indicator lamps, the standard rear LED flashing turn indicators are replaced by LED flashing turn indicators, which can emit yellow flashing light and red brake light or rear light simultaneously.

R 1250 GS and R 1250 GSA: Vehicle voltage and USB sockets as standard; seat heating for rider and passenger for increased travelling and touring capability as well as handlebar risers by 30mm as optional equipment ex works
The new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure already have two sockets as standard – a 12-volt vehicle voltage socket and a USB-A socket with five-volt power supply. A seat heating function for rider and passenger also provides a significant increase in comfort in low temperatures.

A new operating concept enables particularly easy handling. In addition to the various rider seats and footrests available as optional equipment or Original BMW Motorrad Accessories, the handlebar height can now also be adjusted with the optionally available handlebar risers.

Australia-bound R 1250 GS models will be fitted with a regular height two-piece seat – which allows for the seat heating function – and regular height GS screen in response to customers’ preference for a motorcycle that can also be ridden regularly on the road. The R 1250 GS Adventure will be fitted with the Rallye seat to suit its off-road focus.

R 1250 GS and R 1250 GSA: Travelling, off-road and adventure expertise, each in a dynamic basic colour and two triple black and Rallye style variants
In their respective basic versions, the new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure emphasise their more precise nature and universal talents in light white solid paint and ice grey solid paint.
In addition, the triple black style and Rallye style variants, available ex works as optional equipment, each offer two particularly expressive colour concepts. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the BMW GS models, the two new GS models with “40 Years GS” in black and yellow are based on a milestone in GS history: the legendary R 100 GS .

G 310 GS features new LED headlight, updated styling, self-boosting anti-hopping clutch and adjustable hand lever in four stages for brake and clutch

G 310 GS

New light technology
The new BMW G 310 GS now has a full-LED headlight for even better visibility at night, as well as LED flashing turn indicators for increased visibility in traffic. These complement the LED brake lights at the rear. The new LED headlight ensures particularly bright and homogeneous illumination of the road, while a modified connection also ensures distracting vibrations of the light cone are a thing of the past. The three light functions – high beam, low beam and daytime riding light – can be conveniently operated using the left handlebar controls.

G 310 GS: Hand lever adjustable in four stages for brake and clutch
The clutch lever and the handbrake lever are now adjustable in four stages, providing ergonomic benefits particularly for those with small hands. In the first position the brake lever is 6mm closer to the handlebar.

G 310 GS: Revised design and two exclusive style variants
The new BMW G 310 GS can be recognised at first glance as a genuine BMW GS model. With its characteristic windscreen, high front fender, striking flyline and short, high rear end, it has the main elements of the larger BMW R 1250 GS models while also featuring a more aggressive look thanks to the new LED headlight.

The engine housing covers for the alternator, clutch and water pump on all three colour variants of the BMW G 310 GS are painted in metallic titanium grey. In addition to the iconic GS colour scheme with the basic colour plain polar white and tank side panels in grey, the new BMW G 310 GS showcases a sporty appearance in Rallye style. The frame painted red and Kyanit blue metallic for the tank centre cover and front emphasise the off-road talents and give the motorcycle an extremely dynamic appearance.

The BMW G 310 GS in its “40 Years GS” edition is based on a famous historical model from BMW GS history – the R 100 GS. Accordingly, it is in black and yellow – with the basic colour cosmic black and yellow graphics on the tank side panels.

A new rider equipment collection commemorating 40 years of GS has also been developed and will be available in Australia next year.
