CDR Yamaha Monster Energy team rider, Luke Clout, has won the highly prestigious Manjimup 15000 motocross event in Western Australia, beating a top quality field, on one of Australia’s most challenging tracks after battling changing track conditions throughout the day.

The event saw Clout and his Yamaha YZ450F take on all comers across four All-Star motos, as well as an elimination shootout that had the enthusiastic crowd on the fenceline the entire day. In the end, Clout was simply too strong and too fast for his rivals to take all before him and win his first Manjimup 15000 crown.

Conditions on the day started out wet as overnight rain left the picturesque Manjimup circuit muddy for the opening race of the All-Stars feature event. Clout was near the front on the opening lap before moving into the lead on lap two and held it to take a confidence boasting win and set up his day in the perfect fashion.

It was a huge day for Luke Clout as he took home the win at one of Australia’s toughest motocross events.

From there he went on a tear, winning the next two all-star races to build a points lead that allowed him some breathing room for the final leg. As he had done all day, he instantly went to the lead in the final moto and put his head down for the opening laps. Once the field had strung out, Clout was able to assess the situation, back down the speed and settle into a comfortable pace that would see him take the overall victory. In a mature ride, he crossed the finish line in second place and that was enough to give him a 10 point victory to claim the Manjimup 15000 crown.

On top of that, he also took victory in the Elimination shootout which was a one lap dash that saw the last five riders drop out of the race until the final leg, where just three riders fronted the start gates. It was Clout vs Todd Waters Vs Aaron Tanti with one all out, leave your brain in the tool-box sprint lap to determine the winner. And Clout again prevailed taking the win by just over a second from Waters.

“He also took victory in the Elimination shootout which was a one lap dash that saw the last five riders drop out of the race until the final leg.”

“What an awesome day!” Clout expresses after the final moto. “Coming here in 2019 was such a great experience and ever since then I have wanted to come back and win this event and it was so cool to do it today.

“The fans in WA really get motocross and to have them swinging over the fences every race and hear the cheer, although most of that was for Regan, just made for a great atmosphere and I loved it. The vibe in the pits was good and everyone put in a huge effort to make the event so cool.

A little bit of rain didn’t stop Luke from taking home the win for the CDR Yamaha Monster Energy team.

“Thank you to Peter Strickland and his team over here in WA for looking after us and everyone at CDR Yamaha Monster Energy who make my job so easy. They took care of everything and things worked perfectly all day.

“Finally a massive shoutout to my brother Aaron who works so hard as well as my family for all their support. I’m sure I will remember this day for a long-time and I look forward to coming back next year and racing over here again.”

You will be able to catch Clout on the east cost next week as CDR Yamaha head to Maitland for the Pro MX series.

Clout now returns to the east coast where he will re-join his team mate Hayden Mellross and the rest of the CDR Yamaha Monster Energy team as they focus on the upcoming round of the Pro MX championship in Maitland, NSW on June 27.
