It also features a new LED headlamp with swivel function that goes one step further than the impressive LED unit of the previous RT model. Rider convenience is boosted significantly with the addition of a new high-definition 10.25-inch TFT colour screen that can display a map in the cluster.
In addition, a smartphone can be securely accommodated in a storage compartment protected from splash water and ventilated by an electric fan, while its battery can be kept ready for use inductively or via USB connection.
BMW say a newly developed front fairing provides an updated appearance while enhancing the RT’s travel and touring qualities thanks to integration of additional aerodynamic advancements. For 2021 the R 1250 RT will have an RRP of $34,590 (+ORC), check out the list of extras here.
The proven 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine of the G 310 models now features an “electronic throttle grip” (electromotive throttle controller), which delivers even sharper throttle response. Automatic idle speed increase when starting also prevents sudden stalling of the engine.

The self-boosting anti-hopping clutch is additionally new. BMW say it reduces engine drag torque and provides a significant increase in riding safety, particularly during braking manoeuvres involving simultaneous downshifting. It also offers significantly reduced operating forces at the clutch lever.
The new BMW G 310 R now has a full-LED headlight for even better visibility at night and LED flashing turn indicators for increased visibility in traffic. The new LED headlight ensures particularly bright illumination of the road. The three light functions – high beam, low beam and daytime riding light – operated using the left handlebar controls.
Styling updates for G 310 models include dynamic cues that BMW say evoke the S 1000 R, while three new colour schemes deliver additional character and road presence. The G 310 GS will have an RRP of $7,345 (+ORC) and the G 310 R has an RRP of $6,960 (+ORC), check out the list of extras here.
