It was a busy weekend for 15 year old, Ryder Kingsford, who took on three classes over the long weekend. Contesting the 13-15years 125cc, 13-15 years 250cc as well as the MX3 category, Kingsford was kept on his toes all weekend but was rewarded for his efforts come Sunday evening.

In a bright sign for the future, Kingsford claimed two New South Wales championships, winning both the 125 and 250cc divisions in convincing fashion. He won all three motos contested on his 250F while 5-1-1 results were good enough to get the job done on his YZ125. He had his work cut out for him in the MX3 class, which pits 14 to 17 year old riders together but he managed to string consist results of 3-2-3- to make his third trip to the podium, taking second place.

Jobe Dunne made the trek from Victoria to Cessnock and took home the silver in the 85cc class.

Younger brother, Kayd Kingsford, was also on track for a podium result in the 12-15 years 85cc class after finishing with 1-3 results in the first two motos but he had a  fall while leading the final race which unfortunately led to a DNF and he dropped to eighth in the final standings.

Victorian based team rider, Jobe Dunne, made the trek to Cessnock for the final round and did not go home empty handed as he finished second in the 9-11 years 85cc group. In a field that was all over the shop as far as consistency goes, Dunne finished with 1-7-3 results and came home just two points behind the winner, fellow Yamaha rider, Heath Davy. Davy had a successful weekend himself, as alongside his success on the 85, he also managed to pull down a second place finish in on his YZ65.

Heath Davy also managed to take home the silver for the bLU cRU team in the 65cc class on his YZ65.

In the junior girls, Taylor Thompson took the win in a commanding performance on her YZ250F. She finished ahead of Yamaha mounted Danielle MacDonald who is an off road regular and leading in the junior girls at the AORC.

Yamalube Yamaha’s Rhys Budd is the 2021 New South Wales King of MX in the MX2 division with the perfect score card of three race wins from three starts in that class. Budd was a step above his rivals and managed to take victory on the day and secure another championship for Yamaha.

All eyes were on Rhys Budd as he claimed the King Of MX title in the MX2 division, with wins in all three races.

The MX1 class was an all-Yamaha affair with Matt Moss taking the win, just ahead of brother Jake while Budd chimed in for a third place finish. The Moss brothers, mounted on YZ450F’s battled each other all weekend with only a couple of seconds separating the pair at the end of each race. Matt also took out the King of MX Feature race, with Jake in tow for second and Jay Lamb in third, again an all-Yamaha podium.

In the senior women, Taylah McCutcheon travelled down from Queensland to contest the event and returns home with a King of MX championship to her name. She won all three races over the weekend after some hard-fought battles with Emma Milesevic.
