As someone who generally goes through a few sets of leathers each year due to the amount of testing I do along with the odd crash, and a person who has a bit of an odd shaped body, most of my leathers are custom made for me.

However, I have found the more high end brands or models of leathers often fit well straight off the shelf, perhaps with a few small alterations. I’ve been a full time motorcycle journalist for 16 years now and in that time I have had (including racing) over 40 sets of leathers and done loads of laps or road miles in all of them, so I’ve got a pretty good idea of how a quality set of leathers should feel.

Moto Inno TS3 Jeff Ware Bike Review20160728_0709I’ve been wearing my Spidi Warrior Wind Pro suit since May and have to be completely honest here and say that this suit is so far the best off the shelf suit I have used. This Warrior Pro suit could not have been made better if it was a custom fit.

It’s near on perfect in proportion (leg – arm – torso) and does not restrict movement at all. There are no tight spots when walking/bending down/riding and the suit slips on easily with skins on. The fasteners are slick and the wrist and neck comfortable and easily secured, with large easy to find tags even in gloves on the move. Also, the legs/ankle areas are slim and not at all bulky in my boots, a pet hate I find an issue with most suits.

Although it is Winter, I have had the chance to test the ventilation with a 30-lap test session at Lakeside Park in Brisbane on a 30-degree day and although I was hot in the pits in full sun, on track I quickly cooled and could really feel the benefit of the ventilation system of the highly perforated suit. I also found the suit very easy to clean after a few rides and it still looks new, good for OCD people like me!

I’m yet to try a Hydropac so will up date you soon with an updated review once I get some more hours in the suit but initial impressions are that this is well worth the investment, so if the Warrior Wind Pro proves to be hard wearing and long lasting, matching the high quality and protection level, I will definitely be giving it the big thumbs up for long term value. Stay tuned!
