A new limited-edition book titled MV Agusta – MotoGP 1957–1976 pays tribute to one of the most legendary racing dynasties in motorcycle Grand Prix history. Penned by acclaimed British journalist and racer Alan Cathcart, the 168-page volume captures nearly two decades of MV Agusta’s dominance on the world stage—through a rich blend of untold stories, rare photographs and first-hand accounts.

The book spans the golden era of MV Agusta’s involvement in MotoGP, from the late 1950s through the mid-1970s, when icons like John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, Phil Read and Giacomo Agostini carried the fire-red machines to global glory. Cathcart offers readers a unique, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of Count Domenico Agusta, the enigmatic patriarch of the marque, while also bringing the reader trackside through his own experience testing many of these unobtainable Grand Prix machines.

MV’s legendary 350cc and 500cc race bikes, both the triple and four-cylinder variants, are explored in technical and historical detail, with previously unpublished photographs showing off their intricacies. Even MV’s ill-fated Formula 750 experiment is given its due, contrasting it with Ducati’s successful desmo V-twins.

Presented in both English and Italian, this collector’s edition is limited to just 1,000 individually numbered hardcover copies, printed on premium stock with 86 large-format photographs. At €55 plus shipping, it’s a must-have for racing historians, collectors and MotoGP fans alike. Orders can be placed exclusively through the publisher’s website: www.motoitaliane.it
