The first main outing in the Vortex suit for Luca was the gruelling Pheasant Wood 6 Hour, which you can read about here… After Luca set a scorching time and qualifying second on the Saturday both Luca and Zane kept the bike upright for over 300 laps around the 1.4km tight and twisty track to bring the micro machine home for a podium finish. Battling with the other top two teams, the Shark Silkoline entry were just too quick to catch, with Keo Watson setting the 150cc Production record on lap 297!
Luca and Zane, both in IXON leathers, took a brilliant second place at the Pheasant Wood 6 Hour. Luca reckons the comfort and the ventilation of the Vortex 2 suit was a big player in getting to the finish up the pointy end…
The IXON Vortex 2 features elbow, hip and knee protection and is CE-certified. The stretch panels in the arms and legs really help on track, particularly for riders like Luca who really hang off the bike. The elbow sliders come in handy for Luca also, and the aero hump holds a water bladder for hydration.
With a fabric neck collar to keep comfy and keep the sweat away, there are no irritating rashes after a long track day or race. The main areas are micro perforated for keeping Luca’s body cool on track and the armpits, bottom back and knees are made with flex leather to make it easy to move around on the bike during those quick direction changes.
