As a female pillion, when it comes to getting bike gear, I’m more interested in the way it looks than functionality. After Simon pointed me in the right direction with safety and comfort in mind, I found an Argon jacket that met my stringent criteria.
After Simon got some new gear to keep him safe and comfortable on the road, it was time for Justine to look for a new jacket. She landed on the ladies Argon Abyss jacket!
The cut and shape looked perfect; feminine, body contouring and totally aligned to my personal style. I crossed my fingers that the online sizing chart would be correct and ordered the Argon Abyss ladies jacket. When it arrived, to my relief, the sizing was perfect. I loved the soft leather feel and the overall suppleness that comes with it. It came with an internal liner which was surprisingly warm, so I’ve got that ready for the winter months.
As for the internal pockets, my only conclusion is that this jacket has been based on a men’s jacket, as when I put my phone in the internal neoprene breast pocket, it really did dig into my breast! Luckily, there is a waterproof pocket that sits towards the front of the jacket on the left side which was heaps better, so ladies – use that one!
What I love the most about this jacket is how warm it is, plus I don’t get that breeze at the gap between my jeans and the jacket as it covers that well. The cut also contours my body rather than other jackets I have had that look like a sack on me. I’m only small, so this is always a problem!
