TCX and ASBK team up in 2019 to gear up officials!
It’s easy to forget the sheer effort the Motul Pirelli Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) senior officials put in at each and every round, however Link International has stepped up to the plate to recognise their awesome contribution, providing each official a free pair of the famously comfy TCX “Paddock” training shoes.
“Our Paddock shoes are just the thing for long days at the racetracks of Australia, so we’re really happy to provide a pair for each ASBK senior official – these ladies and gents are the lifeblood of racing – they do so much to make motorcycle race events happen all around the country”, shared Link International’s Apparel Manager, Don Nicholas.
“Motorcycling Australia (MA) and Link International have a long-term relationship – we’ve been involved in MA activities for more than 30 years and providing these shoes to aid the comfort of hard-working ASBK personnel is something we’re proud of. The paddock is a very supportive training shoe with an anatomically shaped inner sole and ultra grippy heel and sole for stability and durability, while the textile upper with its durable mesh outer layer is breathable and splash proof – ideal for extended time on your feet no matter the weather.” Nicholas added.
MA CEO Peter Doyle adding, “We thank TCX and Link International for their support in helping to keep our ASBK Senior Officials feeling comfortable and supported whilst they’re at the track. Our officials work hard to make the ASBK a world-class championship and it is important for them to stay comfortable during the long days on their feet. The new TCX “Paddock” shoes provided by Link International will provide our officials with the support they need during an action-packed ASBK season.”
Link International has also teamed up with ASBK’s Pillion Experience providing the track ready ST-Fighter boot in a variety of sizes for those lucky “Pillions in a Million” who get to see the racetracks of Australia at warp speed with some of Australia’s fastest road-racers.
“Obviously, it’s possible for the unexpected to happen in this type of activity so we wanted to provide ASBK’s Pillion Experience with an ultra-safe and durable track-oriented boot and the ST-Fighter is ideal for this,” said Link International’s TCX Product Manager, Mark Barnett.
“We’ve plenty of riders using TCX boots in Australian racing, including ex-World Champion Troy Bayliss and his fast, youngest son Oli, Jess Gardiner ISDE Champion and her team mate Jeremy Carpentier both of whom will be riding in the Australian Off-Road Championships and A4DE.”
