I know this is a motorcycle website, but I have a good reason for mentioning a car. Mrs Bear’s was in a hurry, but her VW was sitting in our driveway with no identifiable signs of life. Fortunately, Pro Accessories had sent me its MotoPressor 500A Jump Starter a little while before. With 500amps on hand, as the name suggests, it can start not only motorcycles but even petrol car engines up to five litres – and the engine of Mrs Bear’s Golf is nowhere near that size. It started immediately once I had connected the Jump Starter.
The device can charge your phone or tablet, too, as well as other battery-powered devices. The complete kit weighs 715g and packs neatly into a cool zipped EVA carry case. It combines battery capacity of 10,000mAh and a starting current of 500A, and costs $198.95.

I recently reviewed Pro Accessories’ MotoPressor Pocket Pump V2. If you’re interested in even more convenience and have more cash in the back pocket, consider the MotoPressor Smart Pump. This one has a battery and allows you to set and store four separate tire pressures. It will automatically shut off when the pre-set pressure is reached. If the pump’s lithium battery runs down, simply plug into your bike’s battery and continue inflating.

Boasting a battery capacity of 10,000mAh and a starting current of 500A, this jump starter pack is the perfect tool for any road-trip. As with any Lithium product, it can be recharged over and over again but don’t let it go completely flat otherwise it may not “wake up”. Keep it fully charged at all times if not in use! The battery will stay charged if left idle for up to 6 months. HOWEVER, MotoPressor suggest recharging every three months or when the charge drops to 50per cent.
