Video Update: Exhaust mod, Jeff’s Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650
Do you own a 650 Twin and want a louder note from the stock exhaust pipes? Grab your cordless drill & watch this video...
I’ve been keeping an eye out for aftermarket pipes for the Interceptor and so far nothing has really caught my eye. I like the look of the stock pipes and I’ve decided for now that I am going to leave them on the bike. So, I thought I’d have a go at modifying these ones myself to get a slightly meatier note. It worked out and I’m pretty happy with the result and the cost – nothing. Here’s a really short video of what I did, a two-minute job. Remember though, this modification can’t be reversed…
I’ve also fitted a DNA airfilter kit from Kenma Australia, which has made the intake note fantastic on the bike and improved throttle response. I’ll do a feature on that next week…

I don’t think this mod will hurt, in the 70s when l used to run British bikes we used to run them straight though a mega never did any harm, all this does it what replacement silencers do is release some back pressure which they don’t really need, it’s only down to EU legislation and so called noise pollution .
