The Macna Myth Jacket is a lightweight, waterproof jacket good for mild weather. Review by Kris Hodgson
The Macna Myth jacket is a basic, relatively light adventure-touring jacket and is mainly notable for being waterproof. Sizing with the Macna jackets is unusual, so make sure you try one on in a store. I’m wearing an XL, where I would normally be a Large.
The fit itself is reasonable in a one-size fits all kind of way, rather than a more tailored style, with the arm length and shoulder width being good, but the neck allowing in far too much air unless I’m wearing a high collared jacket underneath, at which point it really cuts into my ability to breathe and overall comfort.
Adjusters under the chest allow the jacket to be tightened, but there’s not all that much adjustability due to the design.
The waterproofing so far has been great so far, but during winter you really need to rug up, because this is not a warm jacket, even in our relatively mild Sydney weather. The main zip down the chest lets in a fair amount of cold air too, so you really need some form of wind breaker underneath, plus probably a jumper or two under that for warmth.
It does have a doubled over strip under the zip, which is designed to send any rain down and out the bottom of the zip and jacket.
It’ll also zip into matching pants, and there’s two generous pockets on the outside, plus an inside breast pocket that is ideal for a phone. The thermal liner zips in, including at the wrists which is a nice feature.
The Macna Myth mainly strikes me as a warm weather waterproof jacket, but seems basic for the $269.95 RRP asking price. There’s no foam back protector either.
The Myth Jacket is available in sizes Small to 4XL, for $269.95 RRP in Black or Ivory/Black. For more information on the Macna range in Australia see Link International, or visit your local Macna stockist.

The Verdict | Product Review: Macna Myth Jacket
Good waterproofing, but feature-lite and expensive…
February 1, 2020
It’s hard and impossible to choose a jacket by looking a picture on internet or even by reading a review.
You need to wear it, feel its weight and think carefully, will this jacket breath inside or the sweat will freeze during mid to cold weather?
I’ve seen many jackets around $250-300 budget from the most notorius brands a what I can say is manufacturers either don’t care or they don’t know that if a jacket can’t breath inside, it’s rubbish because you get cold and sick.
The problem with Macna is that you can’t find the jacket you like and the size you need on the web sites because here in Australia they are made poorly or in a lazy way and not updated.
The importer, Link International ONLY deals with distributors then distributors do NOT deal with the final buyer but they divert you to a endless list of shops that don’t even have ONE single item.
And Macna, I contacted them personally and got an “idiot” sending me a copy & paste script redirecting me to Link International, it’s a endless loophole where you don’t know where to try a jacket before you buy it.
Very bad Macna, very very bad!
