In the MotoGP, the sun shone over Phillip Island at the right moments today, allowing fans to enjoy the extended track time for the International categories giving riders additional laps to familiarise themselves with the circuit before Qualifying.

Marc Marquez secured his 65th MotoGP career pole position and subsequently created history by being the first person to achieve the feat in any class and demonstrating the talent of the 2016 MotoGP World Champion.

The adrenalin kicked in for Australian Jack Miller who crossed the line in an impressive fifth position for his hometown race, making it the first time he has ever Qualified in the Top 10 in his MotoGP career.

The World Championship battle may be settled, however pride is on the line for all of the MotoGP riders tomorrow as they get set to tackle one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar.
